In this time of history, we are witnessing so much chaos and shifting, that it can be unsettling if we just stare at it without any sort of spiritual insight. Many spiritual leaders are pointing out that we are ushering in a new consciousness, and a new reality that is based on love, kindness and compassion for all beings, but the process is just a little messy. So how do we move through this experience without drowning in the imagery of inhumanity and injustice that we are seeing? Here is one answer: use your imagination.

Ernest Holmes said, “It is the office of the imagination to set the vision.” He taught that our minds are powerfully creative, and our vision creates our reality. So if we are focused on the violence and despair in our world, we will bring more of that into our reality. However, if we use our imagination to see a better world and have faith and trust in that possibility becoming our reality, then it will.

I recently participated in a meditation in which the affirmation given to us to meditate on was, “I unlock the Universal Imagination, and I use it.” I found this mantra so healing for it lifted my vision away from the visuals of our current reality and into a place of seeing greater possibilities for us. If we remain hypnotized by the events we are seeing, we are not opening up to a greater possibility for the word to live into. This is where using our imagination comes in. By using our imagination to see a world that works for everyone; where love reigns supreme; where ALL beings are respected, then we are contributing to the ability of that reality to demonstrate. Since we are all one, eternally connected to each other, our collective vision is an important ingredient in creating this new world that is ready to emerge.
