Although challenging experiences are part of this life we are living, we always have the ability to turn anything around for the better. This is the power of the pivot. To pivot means to turn in another direction from wherever we are standing. Many times when something comes up that challenges us, such as this pandemic or a financial downturn, our first instinct is to fixate on the problem hoping we will figure out how to solve it. Normally this approach only serves to frustrate us. This is where the power of the pivot comes in. When a problem arises in life, rather than immersing ourselves in it, we employ the power of the pivot to turn our focus in a different direction for a solution. Albert Einstein said, “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” So it behooves us to turn our mind in a different direction so we can create space for a solution to reveal itself by seeing things from a new viewpoint. When we pivot, it is important for us to see our desired destination. If we have experienced a financial set-back, our destination may be financial prosperity. If we are feeling lonely from the effects of the pandemic, our destination may be to feel connected to people. Once we make the pivot and move our energy in the direction of solution, the Universe will bring everything into our life that will lead us to our destination. Who knew a pivot could be so powerful?
